New necklaces and cowls in my Etsy shop, please check them out!

At work this week, we are busy preparing for our Holiday Market, featuring locally made art, crafts, and foods.  We will also have drop-in crafts for children, and Victorian stories in the parlor.  My jewelry, ornaments, ornament hooks, cowels, and vintage suitcase picnic baskets will all be exhibited (you can get a preview of some of the items on the Hudson River Designs Etsy page), and I will be demonstrating during the Artisan’s reception.  Come check it out!

I’m back at the Hudson Indoor Farmers Market tomorrow. If you’re in the area stop by.  There’s always beautiful flowers, tasty breads and baked goods, meat, and tasty things from the farms.  Plus, tomorrow you could pick up a necklace or a pair of earrings for someone’s Easter basket :)  10am-1pm, Christ Episcopal Church, Hudson.

Last Saturday, I got to participate, as the featured artisan, at the Hudson Indoor Spring Farmers Market. The market is new this year, a way to start the season early (there is an outdoor market that starts up in May). It features a number of local farms, bakeries, etc., and features a rotating array of artisans. I think it is a great way of doing things— I hate that I can’t participate in so many of the other local markets because since I have a day job (that often includes weekends), I can’t commit to every single weekend for the summer. Last weekend was a slower weekend than they have had thus far (perhaps it was because it was bitter cold in the morning!), but it was still a great day. I’m looking forward to my second stint on April 16th (come visit!), and hoping to get over as a shopper this weekend!

After much craziness with the Holiday Boutique at the Columbia County Historical Society and that at the Greene County Council on the Arts, I’m finally starting to get my wares back and organized— and, I finally have my Etsy shop up and running again!  Some new stuff, some re-listed, more to come…

While the days are very slowly getting longer, I’m dreading the long gap between holiday lights and merriment and the coming of longer spring days— so working with all the photos from our holiday events at work today felt a bit bittersweet.

And another piece for a dear friends upcoming wedding… a collaboration with Annie Reh (http://www.etsy.com/shop/anniereh) via Etsy achlemy.  My first experience with collaboration with an artist I’ve never met, but I’m so happy with the result, and it was nice to get to connect with another talented person on Etsy.

Its been a good jewelry week! Although sometimes it adds more stress (and occasionally limits creative options), I always really enjoy making things for particular people, especially for special occasions.  I got to make two pieces for special people this week.  The first, seen here, is for a good friend of my aunt, who is retiring soon (technically a gift from my aunt, but a friend of our’s too, so it was an honor to get to make it).
